Scoping
and EIA process for the proposed
development of the De Aar Solar One
Photovoltaic Power Project near De Aar
in the Northern Cape. Business
Venture Investments 1421 (Pty) Ltd is
proposing to develop a photovoltaic
power plant and power line on Portion 3
of Farm Hartebeestplaats 135, located
approximately 6 km south-east of De
Aar. The proposed project would
consist of a 25-30 megawatt peak
alternating current (MWp AC) capacity
plant. The plant would be
connected to the existing Hydra
substation via a 132 kV overhead power
line.

A Final Scoping
Report (FSR) has been compiled for the
proposed project and made available for
a 30-day review and comment period from
19 March 2012 to 23 April 2012. A
hard copy of the report has been made
available at the De Aar Public Library,
27 Station Street, De Aar. Comments
should be submitted directly to the
Department of Environmental Affairs
(DEA) (see address below) and copied to
CCA Environmental by no later than 23
April 2012.

SKEIFONTEIN PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER PROJECT
NEAR POSTMASBURG, NORTHERN CAPE

Scoping
and EIA process for the proposed
development of the Skeifontein
Photovoltaic Power Project near
Postmasburg, Northern Cape.
Solarhybrid SA, in partnership with the
Skeifontein Communal Property
Association, is proposing to utilise a
portion of Farm Skeyfontein 536, located
approximately 12 km south-east of
Postmasburg, for the development of a
photovoltaic power plant and power
line. The proposed project would
consist of four phases of 74 megawatt
peak alternating current (MWp AC)
each. The first phase would be
connected to the existing Vaalbos
substation via an overhead power line,
while subsequent phases would be
interconnected.

made available for a 30-day review and
comment period from 12 March 2012 to 16
April 2012. A hard copy of the
report has been made available at the
Tsantsabane Local Municipality Public
Library, Springbok Street, Postmasburg.
Comments should be submitted directly to
the Department of Environmental Affairs
(DEA) (see address below) and copied to
CCA Environmental by no later than 16
April 2012.
